We are delighted to announce that the Government has just confirmed the new Domestic Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) tariff, which will come into effect on Wednesday 20th September 2017.
This will see the domestic Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) rate for Air Source Heat Pumps increase to 10.18p per kWh, subject to a cap of 20,000 kWh per property – something that is unlikely to affect the majority of domestic heat pump installs.
The announcement also confirms that homeowners who purchase the additional MMSP (Metering & Monitoring Service Package) will be eligible for an additional £805 payment in the first year, and an extra £134, for each subsequent year of RHI.
Remember Mitsubishi Ecodan are the only manufacturer currently able to offer this extra funding stream.
This 33% RHI increase for air source heat pumps, and the added payments available with an MMSP are a fantastic way for consumers to reduce their energy bills and have a brand new renewable heating system subsidised by the governement. Also, don't forget the £10,000 interest free loan available from the Energy Savings Trust (EST) for air source heat pump installations.
Do you already have an oil or gas boiler? Why not switch to a hybrid system which means keeping your gas boiler but adding in an air source heat pump as your back up system? This is another way to tap into that great RHI fund provided by the governement for renewable heating and reduce your energy bills. Again, don't forget the interest free loan available from the EST!
